Ingredients

  • 40g Rolled Oats

  • Optional: You can soak your oats overnight which may improve digestibility.

  • 20g Frozen Berries
    Optional: Try to use dark coloured berries such as cherries or blueberries for a high polyphenol intake.

    200g Cow’s Milk, Reduced Fat
    Optional: If you wish to use a dairy alternative aim for soya milk for the highest amino acid content.

    10g All Natural Peanut Butter
    Optional: If wish to use a dairy alternative aim for nut butters but be wary of the saturated fats and protein content.

    10g Chia Seeds

  • Optional: You can also add other seeds alongside these such as sunflower or hemp seeds.

  • Tsp Honey

Directions

  • Add the oats and milk to a small pot over medium heat, stirring continuously. Cook for two to three minutes or until fluffy and cooked through. (add more milk if needed).
  • Transfer to a bowl and top with peanut butter and chia seeds. Enjoy!

Notes

  • Oatmeal or a bowl of oats is fantastic meal which can easily be tailored to your needs. For example, here the added chia seeds give you half of your recommended daily intake of Omega-3. The added dark berries will increase polyphenol intake which can decrease muscle damage and delayed onset of muscle soreness.
